Access Statement

Introduction

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors to the Penn Club insofar as we can.  The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us.

Pre-Arrival

The Club’s premises are within a few minutes’ walk of several bus routes and three London Underground stations:  Russell Square (Piccadilly Line), Holborn (Piccadilly Line and Central Line) and Tottenham Court Road (Northern Line and Central Line). The nearest mainline railway stations are Euston, King’s Cross and St Pancras, all of which are readily accessible by bus or underground. Taxis are plentiful in the area and may be booked from the Club. The Club has no private car parking facilities. There is limited metered parking in Bedford Place; the nearest car park is NCP at Russell Court, off Woburn Place.

We are constrained in the adaptations that can be made for people with physical disabilities because the Club’s premises are listed Grade 2 (as a building of special architectural interest). We regret that the Club’s premises are not suitable for wheelchair users; and we do not have a lift.

You can contact us by telephone, letter or email.

Arrival

The Club’s premises are in Bedford Place, off Russell Square, London WC1. The entrance to the Club is up three steps from the pavement at 21 Bedford Place. Taxis and other vehicles may drop and collect visitors directly in front of the entrance or nearby, subject to space being available.

We can assist visitors on the front steps and with luggage.
