The Club
The Penn Club occupies 3 interlinking houses in an early Georgian terrace built in the 1800s and retains many of its original features.
Previous occupants of the building include Jane Franklin, wife of Sir John Franklin the polar explorer, and John Wyndham, author of several books including ‘Day of the Triffids’, who lived and wrote at the Club during the 1940s and 50s.
It offers comfortable overnight accommodation for both members and non-members and facilities for members to use during the day even when not staying.
Free wireless access is available throughout the building for guests with their own laptops. For those without a laptop, there is a computer that guests can access free of charge. A public telephone is also available and faxes can be sent and received at reception.
