The Penn Club Mission Statement
The Club’s purpose is to provide premises in central London for the enjoyment of members and guests; and to foster a spirit of fellowship in accordance with its Quaker ethos.
General and Financial Objectives
- To accept and retain a sufficient number of members to ensure the Club’s continuing viability.
- To provide competitively-priced accommodation and a breakfast service, with discounts for members.
- To maintain an economic mixture of single, twin and double bedrooms, with sufficient en-suite facilities to match the preferences of our clientele.
- To provide a variety of public rooms, principally for use by Club members.
- To keep members informed of all activities and developments at the Club.
- To collaborate with Quaker residential centres and Britain Yearly meeting.
Policies
- To provide quiet, comfortable and secure surroundings for members, guests and staff.
- To function in accordance with Quaker ideals.
- To observe good practice in all dealings with staff, affording them formal and informal training as well as progressive work experience.
- To comply with all statutory requirements relating to equality, health & safety, environmental and employment matters, and to follow good practice in these areas.
- To provide a library and other facilities in the public rooms, and to offer members occasional events.
